These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chez mobile application, the Chez handyman provider workspace, and related services (the "Service") provided by Chez ("we", "our", or "us"). By using Chez, you agree to these Terms.
Chez is a home and estate management platform with two product surfaces: an iOS application for homeowners that helps organize household documents, track property maintenance, coordinate vendors, manage vehicles, and plan estates; and a web-based provider workspace for handyman businesses to manage dispatch, quotes, customer relationships, and field visits.
Chez is currently in beta. The Service is provided as-is, and features may change, be added, or be removed during the beta period.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Chez. By using Chez, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. If you invite others to your household (family members, home managers, or staff) or to your provider workspace (dispatchers, technicians), you are responsible for ensuring they understand and follow these Terms.
You agree not to:
Chez offers an optional SMS coordination feature that, where available, enables two-way text message communication between you and your home service vendors through a Chez-provided phone number.
Program name: Chez SMS Coordination
Description: When enabled, the SMS coordination feature allows you (the homeowner) to add vendor phone numbers to your account. Vendors can text the Chez number to confirm completed visits, indicate arrival, or send scheduling updates. Messages are relayed between vendors, the Chez system, and you. The system sends operational acknowledgments and clarification requests as needed.
Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on the number of vendors you have enabled and the frequency of their service visits. Typically 1 to 10 messages per week per vendor.
Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply.
Support: For help with the SMS program, email tom@getchez.com or text HELP to the Chez number.
To opt out: Text STOP to the Chez number at any time to unsubscribe. Text START to resubscribe.
For help: Text HELP to the Chez number for information about the program.
By enabling SMS coordination, you authorize Chez to send and receive SMS messages on your behalf to the vendors you have added. You confirm that vendors you add have agreed to receive these messages.
If you register a handyman business and use the Chez provider workspace, you additionally agree to:
You retain ownership of all content you add to Chez (documents, photos, household information, quotes, customer records, etc.). You grant Chez a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.
We do not sell your content. We do not use your content for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not train AI models on your content.
Chez is currently in beta. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
You acknowledge that bugs, data loss, or service interruptions may occur during the beta period. We recommend maintaining your own backups of important documents and information.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chez and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Chez is a coordination tool — we are not a party to any contract you enter into with a service provider, and we are not responsible for the quality of work performed by any handyman business you engage through or outside the Service.
You may stop using Chez and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
